Freedom comes when you learn to let go
Creation comes when you learn to say no
She had returned with mature Ray of Light (1998), once again. Remarkable career from early 80's
until today and it goes on. Say what you like but my alltime favorite album is Like A
Prayer (1989). She is at her peak and I remember listening to the title track from my friend's
new CD player and on the radio before fan requests in Spain.
"An image and a good hook can get you in the room,
but something has to keep you in the room."
- Madonna
Perhaps the most interesting thing with Madonna is the longevity of her career. I came
to the first analysis of it reading the introductory case study from Robert Grant's book
on strategy. The whole thing is about persistent practise of a winning strategy. I guess
the key elements have been managing the fame and MTV level publicity.
"I've always wanted to be taller. I feel like a shrimp, but that's the way it goes.
I'm five-foot four-and-a-half-inches - that's actually average. Everything about me
is average. Everything's normal, in the books. It's the things inside me that make
me not average."
- Madonna
"When I was a child, I always thought that the world was mine, that it was some
stomping ground for me, full of opportunities. I always had this attitude that
I was going to go out into the world and do all the things I wanted to do."
- Madonna
