Old cars

The first two cars I bought were not actually my own. They were co-owned by me and my friend Pablo. I started my car owner's career in December 2000 with Lincoln Towncar 1987, an american limousine with all necessary add-ons, Ford's 5.0 litre V8 and stuff. The whole thing cost some 1200 USD with insurance from an anonymous dealer in Daly City, south of San Francisco. We owned the car for no more than 48hrs. The engine was dead before we could enter Nevada. It was in the middle of the night. We had to call AAA and get the junk pulled to the closest desert town called Baker. The only garage around was happy to get a donation... Here is the final picture of the car:

I am standing on the crap in the next morning. Just promises, no results.

The next car we bought from Las Vegas. The dealer was especially nice, an old little man called Papa Sanches. He listened to our budget and soon found a 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass which was mechanically in a very good condition. From the first moments we heard the GM 5.7 litre V8 engine sound it was like a symphony. We could simply trust on that relaxing voice for the next couple thousands miles around Mexico. Pablo left in Los Angeles and I took the car in Berkeley. Soon I was going to buy a new car. I tried to find out if there would have been any option to ship the car to Finland or alternatively sell it for a reasonable price. No, it was too difficult and I didn't have time. I am sorry to inform all readers of this page that I gave this Olds to a local garage as spare parts for 50 USD:
