Buenos Aires, August 2004 |
Pics from our extended week-end trip to Buenos Aires. I had waited this visit for so long! In many ways BA really delivered. Combine European elegance, feel and style to
latin american rough edges and there you go. During our quick visit, it sometimes felt like
Paris with all that architecture, cafes and tiny french cars. At other times, it was
like Latin America with badly polluting buses, crappy unsafe taxis, and that odd feeling
of insecurity at dusk.
Downtown promenade.
Around Plaza de Mayo, which by the way had a demonstration of Islas de Malvinas veterans.
Cool architecture, cool cafes, cool city.
Bombonera, the home of Boca Juniors and El Diego.
El Diego and El Che. Young people need heroes and utopias, after all.
Break at a random coffee shop. Starbucks has no market in BA.
Watch out! They do fast corners.
Evita lies here. Or should we call her La Evita...?
Whatever, we had it fun.
18 dollares, por favor. No es icluydo. Senor, aceptamos solo MasterCard.
