Since I am locked-in to iPhones for various reasons, I went out to Lasipalatsi plaza in Helsinki tonight to grab my own as “one of the first in Europe.” But first I had to participate in a stupid “lottery” where everyone won. They had a stock of 200 new 16GB black iPhone 3Gs for the luckiest of those first 1000 people eligible to participate.
In the end there turned up just about 100 interested so everyone won. And the prize? The right to buy an iPhone! Yes, you heard it right comrades. I won the right to buy… and I did buy my phone…
There is no doubt that the official iPhone launch in the Nokialand flopped. I would actually like to know how many units they had to carry back to stores. More than 100?
Pics from the event here (Ville bought one, too).
